How to Build a Beautiful Church Website in 10 Minutes

Your church website is your digital front door. For many visitors, it's the first impression they have of your church - before they ever walk through the physical doors.
The problem? Many church websites are outdated, hard to navigate, or missing critical information. And hiring a web developer is expensive.
FaithNudge includes a drag-and-drop website builder that lets anyone on your team create a professional, mobile-responsive church website. It's part of the free core platform. Here's how to build one in about 10 minutes.
Minute 1-2: Start Your Site
- Log into your FaithNudge dashboard
- Click Website in the sidebar
- Choose a starting template or start with a blank page
- Name your first page (usually "Home")
Minute 3-5: Add Your Hero Section
Every great church website starts with a compelling hero section - the large banner area visitors see first.
- Add a Hero block to your page
- Upload a welcoming photo of your church or congregation
- Write a clear headline: your church name and a short tagline
- Add a call-to-action button: "Plan Your Visit" or "Join Us Sunday"
Tip: Use a photo of real people from your congregation. Stock photos feel impersonal. A genuine image of your community is more inviting.
Minute 5-7: Add Essential Content
Below the hero, add blocks for the information visitors need most:
- Service times and location - Add a text block with your address, service times, and a map
- About section - A brief paragraph about who you are, what you believe, and what to expect
- Events - Add the Events block, which automatically pulls upcoming events from your dashboard
- Sermons - Add the Sermons block to showcase recent messages
Minute 7-8: Customize the Design
- Set your theme colors to match your church brand
- Choose your fonts - clean, readable fonts work best
- Upload your church logo for the header
- Adjust spacing and layout to your preference
Minute 8-9: Set Up Header and Footer
Configure your site header with:
- Your church logo
- Navigation links (Home, About, Events, Sermons, Give, Contact)
Configure the footer with:
- Church address and phone number
- Social media links
- Service times
Minute 10: Publish
- Click Publish to make your site live
- Optionally connect a custom domain (e.g., www.yourchurch.com)
- Share the link with your congregation
What Visitors Want to See
Based on research into what church visitors look for online, make sure your website clearly answers these questions:
- When and where do you meet? (Service times and address - above the fold)
- What should I expect? (Dress code, kids programs, parking, service length)
- Who are you? (Brief about section, pastor info)
- How can I connect? (Contact info, small groups, next steps)
Keep It Updated
The best church website is one that stays current. FaithNudge's dynamic blocks help with this - Events and Sermons update automatically as you add new content in the dashboard. But review your site quarterly to update photos, staff info, and any static content.
No Coding Required
You don't need a web developer, a WordPress expert, or a design degree. FaithNudge's builder is designed for church administrators and volunteers - drag, drop, type, publish. If you can write an email, you can build a website.
And like the rest of the core FaithNudge platform, it's included at no cost.
